
Live streaming has infiltrated many churches in full force, mainly due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the restrictions imposed by many countries. This phenomenon has pushed churches to embark on the wave of technology as a medium to continue to spread the gospel, fellowship and have discipleship. It is therefore crucial that those persons involved in the live streaming production in churches be equipped with the requisite knowledge and skills to undertake to ensure the best possible experience for its virtual community.
This advanced course is engaging and informative, spanning twelve weeks aimed to provide participants with key tools and techniques to enhance their church’s live streaming video production in a systematic manner. Several facilitators complement the course with years of experience in the respective topics.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Develop a live streaming plan tailored to their church’s needs.
- Produce high quality live- streaming using the best tools and technology available
- Select the right live-streaming software and hardware that fits the need of the church
- Use and navigate live streaming hardware and software to create professional live streams and video recordings. Examples and comparison of different software platforms.
- Identify best practices with the use of lights and audio in the livestream
- Enhance their church live streaming experience using various platforms such as YouTube, Facebook and Zoom
- Develop a risk management and contingency plan for live streaming
- Identify the legalities involved in all aspects of live streaming
- Apply the leadership skills in leading and empowering your Media ministry to live streaming team
- Identifying and troubleshooting common livestreaming issues
- (Participants should develop their own live streaming strategy)

This course is geared toward active learning and participatory approaches. A variety of training and learning methodologies will be adopted. They include:

Attendance
All participants are required to attend 75% of classes to successfully complete the course, upon which they will receive a certificate of participation.
No summative assessments will be administered but participants are encouraged to participate in all sessions.

Eric Alvarez
Mr Eric Alvarez has trained persons in TV Production and Audio for Institute of Broadcasting Careers, the Ministry of Science, Technology and Tertiary Education (Trinidad and Tobago) and the Division of Community Development in the Tobago House of Development, among others. He is well known among broadcasters, event producers and church leaders in Trinidad and Tobago.
